Amaretto (Italian for "a little bitter") is a sweet, almond-flavoured, Italian liqueur associated with Saronno, Italy. Various commercial brands are made from a base of apricot pits, almonds, or both.[1]
Amaretto serves a variety of culinary uses, can be drunk by itself, and is added to other beverages to create several popular mixed drinks, as well as to coffee.
Liqueurs are alcoholic beverages that are bottled with added sugar and have added flavors that are usually derived from fruits, herbs, or nuts. Liqueurs are distinct from eaux-de-vie, fruit brandy, and flavored liquors, which contain no added sugar. Most liqueurs range between 15% and 55% alcohol by volume.
Everclear is a brand name of rectified spirit sold by American company Luxco. Luxco Brand is made from corn. It is bottled at 151-proof (75.5% ABV) and 190-proof (95% ABV). As of 2013, sale of the latter is prohibited in California, Florida, Maine, Massachusetts, Hawaii, Iowa, Michigan, New York, Nevada, Washington, North Carolina, New Hampshire and Minnesota.
